Because of cup commitments only two games were played in the First Division over the weekend. Pride of place goes to Lampeter who registered a thumping seven goal victory at Crannog.

Mark Wilkins, Gethin Edwards and Osian Williams led the charge with a goal apiece in the first half. The dominance continued after the turnaround as Wilkins and Edwards both added a second before James Gudgeon hammered home the final nail in Crannog’s coffin.

In the other game played Dewi Stars registered a welcome first League win of the season at Aberporth. In what was throughout a keenly contested affair the issue was settled in the second half as Kevin Bullman struck to clinch the points for the visitors.

In the first round of the J Emrys Morgan Cup two games involving four local sides attracted the attention. Cardigan turned the early season form book upside down with an excellent away win at New Quay.

After a goalless first half Town went ahead early in the second period when Peter Edwards seized on a long ball to fire past keeper Damien Thomas.
Mathew Mousley brought the home side back on level terms with a well-taken goal, before the visitors regained the advantage through Gary Lawrence. That proved to be the game’s turning point and allowed Edwards to complete his hat-trick with another couple of goals.

At the Square Field, Aberaeron notched a well worked win over Ffostrasol. The homesters took the lead ten minutes into the second half when Stewart Smith blasted an unstoppable effort into the top corner of the net. A few minutes later good work along the left set up James Hemmings to double the home lead and thus take them into the second round.

St Dogmaels made the long and fruitless journey to Llansanffraid going down 4-2 in a hard fought encounter. Dafydd George and Mathew Wilton were on target for the Saints.
